The Brazil Experience

In 2005, the Tidewater Soccer camp began their Brazil program by taking 18 players to Clube Atletico Paranaense in Curitiba, Brazil. In 2006, another 20 players made the trip to this training center, which is clearly one of the top of its kind in the world. In 2007, Johnny Kamara and Howard Jefferson of the Virginia Legacy SC accompanied 13 young players to this soccer paradise in the south of Brazil.

Tidewater Soccer Camp will not sponsor a trip in 2008. However, Al will make a due diligence trip to the Oscar Inn in May to observe an NSCAA advanced national coaching course. If the site appears to be well suited for our trip, TSC will organize another trip in the summer of 2009.

The cost of this venture has been around $3000 total, depending upon airfares and other variables. Once a player is approved for the trip, he will work with DeLima Soccer Enterprises, a leader in soccer ventures in Brazil, to finalize the details. This is a training experience, with players mixed in with youth professionals from Atletico, one of the major clubs in Brazil.

The level of play is extremely high for this excursion and players must meet a certain standard to be accepted.
